Gibson – famous for their guitars played by rock giants recently hosted a party with Quiksilver to help launch the new Quiksilver Summer Ladies Surfwear Range. The exclusive evening of live music at the Bush Hall in London was the official launch to find the UK’s next Quiksilver female ambassador.
Gibson Guitar brought along a bevvy of new artists who performed whilst the new Quiksilver line for women was exhibited.
Ela, the face of Quiksilver’s current Spring 2009 campaign hosted the event, introducing the Quiksilver ambassadors on stage. Performances included acoustic sets from; folk/soul artist Charlotte O’Connor, who recently signed to Columbia Records and is due to release her debut album shortly; urban/folk/pop artist Ellie Lawson who collaborated with LA’s DJ Lethal on her first album ‘The Philosophy Tree’ and has just released her second album ‘Lost Songs’ independently; and folk/pop artist Anna Leddra Chapman, also working on her debut album.
Alongside all the partying was several competitions to win some amazing Gibson goodies. Two guests later left the evening smiling after one unlocking the case to a Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar and another found the last piece of the jigsaw to win an exclusive print from Bara Prasilova.
A great night was had by all the Quiksilver Womens Surfwear with launched in perfect style. Rock on!

In recent weeks there has been a lot of talk about the Ministry of Defence (MOD) reviewing access to one of the South Coast best windsurfing and surfing breaks.
The Byelaw that limits access to windsurf and surf at Kimmeridge Bay in Dorset is up for review in a couple of months. So if you are a regular to Kimmeridge or still want to do your bit – then join the ABBA (Access to Broad Bench Association) campaign to regain access to Broad Bench.
ABBA is asking that the Ministry of Defence take our case, listed below, seriously:
As regular surfers down at Kimmeridge Bay we are all behind this cause. If you can help out too by signing the petition – fantastic.
If you have any great stories or pictures about surfing Kimmeridge (keep it clean though!) let us know in the comments box below.
We are keeping our fingers crossed for the MOD review meeting.
