The Boscombe artificial reef has understandably attracted a lot of publicity over the last year or so, but it is not only the reef that is having a makeover.
In true Changing Rooms style the rest of Boscombe Beach front is going through some amazing redevelopment.
There are new shops going in, restuarants and eateries and the Boscombe Surf School have all been added in the last few months to take advantage of what is going to be one of the best surfing destinations in the UK.
The esplanade and beach huts have also had some serious investment by the local authority and the developers. If you have ever fancied owning a beach hut next to your local break – but wished for something just that little bit more upmarket or some additional “home from home comforts” then now is the time to take a look at the Beach Pods at Boscombe Overstrand.
Designed by Red or Deads Wayne Hemmingway, the new Beach Pods take the beach hut concept a stage further. Pods feature mains electricity, hot and cold running water, and French doors leading onto generous private balconies over-looking the beach and Europe’s first artificial surf reef, which is anticipated to be completed this Autumn.
Prices are £64,995 inc. VAT for a single pod and £89,995 inc. VAT for a double. At the time of going to press we understand there are still a few Beach Pods available for sale.
With Summer just around the corner, many people are turning their attention to holidays and getting away from work for a week or two. But with the current economic climate and the price of the pound overseas, more and more people are looking to stay in the UK this year.
If we an get the weather right this year then it looks like Boscombe could be in for a busy Summer.
Don’t forget that Sorted Surf Shop is just at the top of the hill overlooking the sea and you can check out the latest surf and weather conditions on the Boscombe Surf Cam.
